Acocado Mallow Ice Cream (4th Annual Fluff Fest: Best Overall Recipe Winner)
By Liza Vitale (center in photo)

In case haven’t heard, Marshmallow Fluff was invented in Somerville. Archibald Query whipped up the curious white goo at his house on Springfield Street in 1917. For the past several years, the Somerville Arts Council’s ArtsUnion Project has included the popular “What the Fluff?” Festival in its summer lineup. Produced by Union Square Main Streets (USMS), the fest features a cooking contest. This recipe was the winner in 2009. USMS hopes to put out a Fluff cookbook within the next year.
