Nibble is relatively new to the blogging game; call us late adopters. Yet one thing we’ve discovered early on is the wonderfully collaborative nature of the blogosphere. The other day Somerville Local First kindly touted Nibble on its site, sending dozens of epicurious folk to our blog. We look forward to collaborating more with this local grass roots organization—perhaps in the form of a food fest in Union Square.
Another organization we like working with is East Somerville Main Streets. They put out a great cookbook a while back called “Savoring East Somerville.” More recently, they started a blog that includes stories about the food scene in Eastie. In a recent post, Befekadu Defar of Fasika, an Ethiopian restaurant on Broadway, talks about his restaurant’s fabulously exotic menu. On the ESMS blog, you learn about Defar’s favorite dish and Ethiopian ingredients like tej (honey wine) and injera (made from teff, a grain unique to Ethiopia that is used to make a spongy fermented flatbread). So check out the blog, the book—and visit Fasika soon!
