Bring your appetites and passports: On Wednesday, July 20th, we’re heading to Peru, Thailand and Mexico—without leaving Union Square!

We will nibble our way around the globe by visiting three different restaurants: Machu Picchu, Ronnarong Thai Tapas and Cantina La Mexicana. At each stop, we’ll chat with restaurant owners to learn about their cultural heritage and get the culinary backstories to the exotic fare being offered.

The tour will kick off at Machu Picchu with Passionfruit Pisco Sours and traditional Peruvian cuasas (featuring Peru’s most famous chile: ají amarillo). Then we’ll hop over to Ronnarong for papaya salad, paradise beef and Lemongrass-infused Thai sangrias (shown here). We’ll end our roving feast at Cantina La Mexicana to enjoy  several different Mexican bites and sample-size margaritas—your choice of prickly pear, blackberry, jalapeño or habanero. (Disclosure: We tasted a habanero margarita the other night. A mere sip was painful, but we know heat masochists out there enjoy this sort of thing.)

This Union Square tasting tour offers a great (and cheap!) opportunity to enjoy an array of the scrumptious offerings found in this up-and-coming food hub. If your mouth is watering, please sign up soon, because space is limited.
